I already blog about my day to day life and my writing over at http://www.thewishatree.com This blog is going to be different.
I decided it was time to break open that special bottle of va-va-voom I've been saving for a rainy day. I've lived as a semi-normal person for as long as I can stand, hiding my Aspergers light under any available bushel. I've tried to be what I think I should be, what other people think I should be, what they expect me to be...Need I go on?
Finally, I realised it was okay to be different - very different! I have Aspergers syndrome, I am a real person and I am proud!
Another reason I wanted to post about being Aspie is that a lot of the information available is for children with Aspergers, and a lot of that information is about boys. I do have an Aspie boy of my own and it's thanks to him that I came to find out more about myself. But there is still a lot to uncover about adult women and Aspergers.
I don't claim to know it all, or even to know very much. But I am getting to know myself and the way I see the world. I thought it would be useful to share this with others, in case someone who is not as far along the road would like to be able to look at something I talk about and say - yes, me too!
I'll leave it there, for now, as I need to put the kettle on and recover from learning more techy stuff to make this blog possible. I'll post more soon!
